AN AGE-FRIENDLY UNIVERSITY INITIATIVE: EMERITI PROFESSORS' INTEREST IN INTERGENERATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Abstract The Age-Friendly University (AFU) Climate Survey (in collaboration with UMass Boston) in 2019 identified the need to engage University’s own emeriti professors; this reflects AFU Principle 9. objective of study was explore professor’s perspectives and areas interest intergenerational activities. After IRB approval, an online Qualtrics survey sent 315 professors. Eighty-six (27.3%) participants responded survey. About 60% reported guest lecturing either or face-to-face, 48% sharing retirement experiences students. In addition descriptive statistics paper will present analysis open-ended questions relating education, research, service activities their establishing association as a venue connect University. principles be discussed context engaging professors relationships benefiting both students
